last sunday was the 14th National Lion Dance Championship 2008 for our zone. 7.69, not bad at all considering that we only started training less than a month ago hehe. all the sweat and blood finally paid off when we put up our best performance at Kaki Bukit CC. so kudos to my team and all those who came to help out..you guys ROCK!! =]
hmm while waiting for our turn, almost quarreled with the organizers for some administration mistake. at one point of time we almost had to pack up and go, not allowed to compete. but luckily they found their "evidence" and their mistake. still, think i need to do something about my temper these days. to stop all these 打抱不平 thoughts..cos its making me a tigress. =[
anyway during this competition, i saw troupes helping each other out carrying tonnes of heavy props. i saw many guys falling from high grounds, but i also saw the rest of the troupes clapping, shouting, cheering them on. i guess when you're up there and fallen, when your will power is dying off, this is the kind of encouragement that helps you move on. and when our lion dancers removed their "mask" to bow to the audience, i heard cheers and loud claps for our guys..
guess thats what i love about it, it's not a selfish sport. its really all about friendship, team work and most of all, sportmanship =]
