goodbye, Rascal.

Rascal (our dog) passed away two weeks ago after being with us for 5 years. it didn't come much of a shock to us since she was already suffering from what seemed like a cancerous growth underneath her paw for rather long already.

i'd say that most of us (in JB at least) keep dogs for the sake of watching over the house when no one's around, and at night when we're asleep. in a way this means less contact with them watchdogs, since they're not inside our houses..unlike pets that serve as companionship mainly. and most of our dogs are either picked up strays, or donated from friends or relatives when they're over the "puppy stage" so we kinda build less relationships?

for me every time my dog passes away, i just regret not playing with it more while it was around..not giving it more of my time until recently when i realize they're either old or sick. really wish i had cherished more of Rascal..as mum and dad always say "she was one of the best". and i'm thankful to her for keeping everyone, especially mum and dad safe when we're not around.

anyways our neighbour got us two new dogs very quickly, guess it's too unsafe to live without dogs over there.

but this time it's different, haha cos they're both puppies. so this time we're going to be watching them grow up.. we're gonna be responsible for it's toilet training, habits, growth and development..just like children haha. and i'm excited! guess cos they're really cute and loveable.

and surprisingly, mum and dad appear to be more excited than us children. the old dog house that dad had built has been used for too long, so they bought them a nice big (ahem $200 cage) and play with them every day after work. lol it's kinda amusing watching them running after the lil ones..but i'm glad that they're gonna be good companions for them. although we got a bit jealous when mum said "our children always not home..so we spend on the dogs lor".

well i guess for all of us - people, animals come and go. life passes by so quickly..sometimes we should just stop to breathe it all in, and cherish the moment cos we always never what we've got till it's gone.
