Fusionopolis

was looking forward to this the entire week!

haha skipped 301 just for this..not a good choice, but definitely worth it! never imagined that we could be part of such a huge event and really think it's an honour that we were given the opportunity to perform with the PM gracing the event. sounds silly i know, but i've really never dreamt of seeing him in real life before! wahaha so you can imagine how nervous i was.

as usual, we're always overcoming some calamities before leaving nanyang house.. like the very complicated shin guard.

i simply cannot understand the shin guards.

and by 4.40pm we were all set in our new uniforms and ready to go! i quite like the red-pink combination hehe.

more calamities..the flag broke while on the lorry and it took a ten-men team to remove it. the lorry was driving so fast!!!!

finally after surviving the heart-racing and stomach-wrenching lorry ride (thanks to Uncle James), we arrived at the Fusionopolis building. pretty huh? it's very near MOE and the Biopolis, can be seen from the mrt station too.

anyway i was seriously awed by all the techno-wackno stuff in that building. besides the robot lion, which was one of the highlights today, there were robot waiters, computerized guestbooks and a whole series of exhibitions held outside. it's amazing really, and it's happening right here in singapore.

though watching the video on how kids will give up their PSPs for holograms, doctors will provide live tours INSIDE our body, taxis will be computer operated..totally freaked me out. haha i don't wanna be replaced by robots or clones. and i want my kids to grow up playing with barbies and transformers for a few years at least.

even the "点睛" ceremony graced by the PM was done by touch-screen. and yup i saw him in real life for the first time yeah!! the President of Astar came over to chat as well..and glad we spoke to President Su too. guess fate is a funny thing, 4 years in NTU we're all leading busy lives and we might never get the opportunity to even meet, but yet our paths can cross outside one day=]

the robot lion in action. this was build by A*Star- Simtech i think. it really moves like lion dance! haha impressive, though we hope it doesnt snatch our rice bowl in future wahaha.

it danced to Usher's "Yeah" too lol. techno-clubber aye!

and of cos, glorious food! at first we felt kinda out-of-place at a corner since we were dressed like red mafias while the rest were in suits and blazers lol. quite embarrassing too, cos today's the first time we're served food lol. but we were very well-taken care of, kudos to the Lion (organizing) team! =]

totally enjoyed myself today. the performance was a success and the entire event was a real eye-opener for us..whee! =]
