Curry Favor @ Novena

it's always easy to find reasons, or rather excuses to indulge in a buffet. e.g. my early birthday celebration!! 9 days too early actually haha.

anyway been wanting to try out the buffet at Curry Favor since i saw their advert @ hungrygowhere.com. so we went last saturday before collecting our safari race pack.

i shall attempt to do a review.

featuring...

chanwanmushi.
tasty and definitely has more ingredients underneath than most other jap restaurants (some i really think use water and egg only)

baby octupus.

chasoba, pork curry, chicken curry.
their specialty is curry, and it's really good for jap curry.

pork shogayaki.

agedashi tofu.

soft shell crab - nice and crispy!
chicken karaage - tender inside and crispy outside, perfect.

chicken katsu toji - i'm not a chicken fan, but skinz says it's good hehe.

unagi - not the freshest, but not too bad considering it's a buffet.

ooo and you must look at this rare, harmless lil thing.
it comes complimentary only ONE piece with every 2 buffet lunches ordered.

tada! it's cheese katsu.
haha crispy on the outside and the hot cheese inside just melts in your mouth..heavenly.

oreo milkshake.

mochis - erm their "insides" were covered with only a thin skin, i like!
we were entitled to 4 mochis each, but as you can see they were HUGE and we were full haha, so we only ate 2 each.

didn't put up all the pictures here, but their menu consists of about 30-40 dishes? other dishes included mushroom fry, bean sprouts, edamame, ebi fry, pork belly soup etc. and drinks included homemade lemon tea, lychee cooler, rootbeer float.

so we sat from 12.30 - 3.30pm. overall i thought the quality of food was not bad, but i guess that's traded in for variety. for $22.80++, places like sakura might be better if you're looking for variety. but then again we were both too full to try some of the dishes.. so i suppose it's quite enough, if you happen to eat like us lol=]

can't remember how many buffets we've gone for in the past 2 years haha. whoever said buffets were unromantic? lol. have you tried sitting cross legged under the stars eating NASI LEMAK, dissecting chicken wings with greasy fingers? =P
